ELECTRA Universe is proud to support Sungai Watch, an Indonesian environmental organisation working to stop plastic pollution before it reaches the ocean.
Our world has always been shaped by island life — by rivers, reefs, coastlines, shells, saltwater and the communities who live close to the sea. Many of our shell details are sourced directly through sea gypsy communities in Indonesia, connecting ELECTRA to the landscapes, waters and people that continue to inspire the brand.
Sungai Watch works at one of the most important points in that ecosystem: the rivers. By installing trash barriers, collecting waste, sorting materials and working with local communities, Sungai Watch helps stop plastic pollution before it reaches the ocean.
WHY WE SUPPORT SUNGAI WATCH
Plastic does not begin at the beach. Much of it travels from land to sea through rivers.
Sungai Watch’s work is direct, practical and deeply needed. Their teams protect Indonesia’s waterways by intercepting waste upstream, before it can reach the coastlines, reefs and oceans that island communities depend on.
For ELECTRA, supporting this work is a natural extension of who we are. Our pieces are created from a love of island landscapes and natural materials. Supporting Sungai Watch is one way we give back to the waters that shape our world.
